Driveway GratesThe new style driveway grates provide the same function as the old style cattle grates. The driveway grate is a way to close off your driveway to deer without the use of a barrier. Vehicles can easily pass over the grate. The driveway grate eliminates the need for a driveway gate. It works in conjunction with your deer fence to provide a complete enclosure. A driveway grate installation takes approximately eight hours, including excavation and drain installation.

Driveway grates can be installed anywhere you have a relatively flat area on your driveway. Locate unit where perimeter deer fence meets the driveway. Deer fence runs along sides of grate to ward off angle jumps from hungry deer. The 12+ foot length will not allow deer to jump in. The 1.5 foot depth will not let them walk in. The steel angle iron (2x2 inch x 3/8 inch) will not let them step on the grate. The angles are spaced appropriately to allow a deer leg to go down between them, thus stopping the deer in it’s tracks (literally). Crib work support frame holds steel angle iron level with the driveway. Drainage is provided by way of frame design and stone coverage over bottom of grate.
