Deer Myths

Deer can jump 15' high.
They can jump up to 10' high, but will do so only in a life or death situation. Deer go under rather than over.

Deer will not eat Boxwood.
In Valley Forge, PA Boxwoods go down like lilies. In heavy deer population areas deer will eat almost anything, including:
1. Boxwood
2. Douglas Fir
3. Mountain Laurel
4. Blue Spruce
The only deer proof plant is Barberry.

Deer are scared of humans.
When they finish eating your planter boxes by the front door they might also ring your door bell.

Deer have great eyesight.
They use smell and taste to recognize their food.
